A 16-year-old male in Philadelphia faces charges in connection with four distinct murders which occurred over the span of several months. One of those killings occurred — of all places — out a prison, ABC affiliate WPVI-TV stated.
According to court documents, suspect Ameen Hurst is charged in six individual cases filed on March 31, April 21, and April 29. In complete, Hurst faces a whopping 32 individual counts. Here’s the rundown:

Naquon Smith, 24, was lifeless from 3:12 p.m. Tamir Brown, 16, died later that day. Two additional victims were in serious condition but also have apparently survived. They were both 19 years old when they were taken. Social media allegedly helped the authorities link Hurst into the March 11 instances.
The concluding killing occurred on March 18. Victim Rodney Hargrove, 20, was gunned down an hour following his father bailed him out of Philadelphia’s Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility in 1:00 in the morning. Hargrove waited for his family to pick him up in a bus stop near the prison, then hurried back into the facility using a vehicle chasing him. He had been murdered just”feet in the raised gate” of the complex. The Philadelphia Police Department said in a Wednesday gun violence briefing that they believe”Hargrove was murdered in a case of mistaken identity,” as WPVI put it. An inner safety probe is attempting to determine the prison gate was raised once Hargrove rushed back.
Hurst was in custody since March 20.
Attorney Lee Mandell, who is listed as Hurst’s attorney in various court documents, stated he had”no comment” when touched by WCAU.
CBS affiliate KYW-TV put items into broader perspective: instead of midday Wednesday, a total of 159 individuals had been taken, a lot killed, in Philadelphia so much this year.
“Just Tuesday night, as many as seven shootings occurred within a two-hour span,” the station noted.
