A basic school paraprofessional in town of Avon Park, Florida is charged with moving overboard later she got mad at two pre-kindergartners. Cynthia Lee Heiss, 38, supposedly force fed one kid a packet of jelly and stuffed a tissue at the mouth. The sufferers were ages 3 and 4, stated that the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office at a Facebook informative article.
The alleged incident happened April 21 at an”Outstanding Student Instruction” classroom for pre-kindergartners, police said. According to deputies, the other employee said Heiss got angry at two kids”that wouldn’t calm her down to her gratification.” The suspect’s alleged remedy was to force feed a package of jelly to among the children. She is then thought to have stuffed a tissue into the second child’s mouth and held the mouth closed for several seconds. The boys did not sustain any bodily injuries, police said.
The episode was reported to school officials that the next day, and the defendant was instantly placed on administrative leave, deputies said. Heiss was arrested Thursday. Authorities said that the investigation was ongoing.
Online prison documents demonstrate that Heiss faces two counts of”cruelty toward child abuse without harm.” She remains locked up in lieu of a $10,000 bond. It’s unclear if she’s a lawyer in the matter.
